Our building project had too many filing systems
During a family building project, we kept collecting things to compare or discuss later: interior styles, smart-home ideas, flooring, materials and dozens of small details.
The finds came from everywhere. Our own photos went into a shared album. Google images and links went into the family chat. Pinterest pins, TikToks, Reels and YouTube Shorts often stayed in the app where we found them.
Soon we could remember that someone had shared a good idea, but not where it was.
I did not want another list of links
The first picture of Seenlist was a shared pinboard. Whether an item was a photo, pin, reel or link, it should be recognisable as soon as you opened the board.
You create a project for something you are working on and share it with family or friends. Everyone can add finds. Where possible, Seenlist pulls in the image or preview and displays different sources in one visual collection.
Saving should require as few decisions as possible. No compulsory categories, folders or tagging system. Add it, see it, look through it together later.
The sources do not play by the same rules
A photo from the library is straightforward. External platforms are not.
Pinterest, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube expose links and previews in different ways, and change their behaviour. Saving therefore works more reliably from some apps than others.
The second question only appears as a collection grows: how does a large board stay useful without everyone sorting it by hand? I am working on that without making capture slow again.

Seenlist currently runs only on iOS.
